Beginning Again

I'm starting over..I lost my first blog and entries, my first attempt at Holding a Space in which to write! I am learning more about what it is I'm writing about...

To HOLD YOUR SPACE is, in my opinion, the single most difficult thing we learn to do. It is learning to take our personal power while being accountable and authentic. Often, as children, we are taught to be "nice girls" and "good boys" which pretty much means do whatever it takes to get along. We learn this behavior instead of expressing what we really think and feel on the inside. This can result in giving away our authentic selves. Many of us sell out early without even realizing it.
Some of us are taught not to ask for what we want or we are selfish...it's OK to be pretty on the outside but just don't have much of an opinion. If you do, somewhere in there, best not to express it. Just be a good girl, be nice. We learn (in subtle ways) to give up our authentic selves, don't be real. Over time, if we quit listening to ourselves, we can forget (or never learn) who we really are. If this happens, we give up the true "space" we are meant to inhabit and our purpose here. Learn to HOLD YOUR SPACE There is only one wonderful and unique you.
